Aspen Horizon™ 456 TLSO – Thoracolumbar Brace for Spinal Stabilisation

The Aspen Horizon™ 456 TLSO is a thoracolumbar-sacral orthosis (TLSO) — a higher-level spinal brace that supports a larger portion of the spine than a lumbar belt, from the mid-back down. It is designed to restrict motion and create a stable, dynamic environment for healing in the thoracolumbar and lumbar spine, and is used for challenging clinical conditions on a doctor's recommendation. If you or a family member needs structured bracing after a vertebral fracture or for a significant spinal condition, the Horizon 456 delivers serious, adjustable support with genuine wearing comfort.

What it is designed for

The Horizon 456 TLSO was developed specifically to target challenging indications, including:

  • Compression fractures of the thoracolumbar spine.
  • Burst fractures requiring motion restriction during healing.
  • Hyper-kyphosis (excessive forward curvature of the upper back).
  • Post-surgical stabilisation of the thoracolumbar region.

By limiting movement and holding the spine in a stable position, it creates the conditions the spine needs to heal, while helping the wearer stay mobile and functional. A TLSO of this type should always be used under medical supervision.

Key features

  • MemoryFlex™ open-shoulder straps: an open shoulder-strap configuration makes the brace easy to put on and take off, while still providing flexion and rotational control of the upper trunk.
  • Telescoping height adjustment: the shoulder straps telescope through about 13 inches of height adjustment, so the brace can be tailored to different torso lengths.
  • SlickTrack™ 4:1 tightening: Aspen's patented mechanically-advantaged system tightens top and bottom independently, letting you localise compression to support fatigued, spasming muscles.
  • One-size adjustable: fits waist sizes from about 24 to 50 inches, and up to 70 inches with extension panels — accommodating a wide range of body types.
  • Step-down capability: the Horizon braces can be stepped down to the Horizon PRO for treating recurring or resolving conditions, supporting the full recovery pathway.
  • Comfortable for extended wear, balancing firm motion control with day-to-day usability.

TLSO vs a lumbar belt

A lumbar belt (like the Aspen OTS 642) supports the lower back for muscle pain and everyday strain. A TLSO like the Horizon 456 supports a much larger section of the spine and restricts motion for serious conditions such as fractures — it is a clinical brace, not a comfort belt. If you need thoracolumbar support in a slightly lower-profile design, see the Aspen OTS 457 TLSO.

Fitting and use

A TLSO should be fitted and its wear schedule set by your doctor or orthotist. In general, measure the waist where the brace sits, adjust the telescoping shoulder straps to your torso height, and use the SlickTrack tightening to achieve the prescribed support. Follow your clinician's instructions closely on how long to wear it and during which activities.

Frequently asked questions

What does TLSO mean?
Thoraco-Lumbo-Sacral Orthosis — a brace that supports and restricts motion across the thoracic (mid-back), lumbar (lower back) and sacral spine, used for fractures and other serious spinal conditions.

Who should use the Horizon 456?
People needing motion restriction for conditions such as compression or burst fractures or hyperkyphosis, prescribed and supervised by a doctor.

Will it fit different body sizes?
Yes — it is one-size adjustable for roughly 24–50 inch waists (up to 70 inches with extensions) and has telescoping shoulder straps for torso height.

Is it hard to put on?
The MemoryFlex open-shoulder design is made specifically to make donning and doffing easier than typical TLSO braces.

Do you provide GST billing and delivery across India?
Yes — fast delivery nationwide with GST invoice. WhatsApp us for hospital or bulk orders.
