• Used to collect split skin grafts.
• Used to cover a raw surface made up of good vascularized or clean granulations in order to promote healing and prevent deformity and disability.

PROCEDURE:

• After preparing the donor site, the limp is securely held.
• The graft is removed with a steady to and for sawing motion while the knife is placed firmly against the skin.
• By altering the depth of the knife, you may get the appropriate thickness of the graft.
• A very thin graft is transparent, and the knife blade beneath appears blue grey.
• It creates a layer of tiny, densely packed or confluent bleeding spots.
• In the case of a full thickness transplant, the subcutaneous fat is visible.
