It includes a handle and stem on which a blade holder and an adjustable roller for regulating graft thicknesses are attached.

Usage:

It is used to obtain healing and to limit deformity and disability by taking split skin grafts for coverage of raw surface composed of healthy vascularized or clean granulations.

How to use Skin Grafting Blade Handle?

The assistant holds the limp firmly after preparing the donor site as in any operative case.

A wooden board is placed directly in front of the skin grafting handle by the surgeon.

The Skin Grafting handle is firmly pressed against the skin, and the graft is removed using a steady to and for sawing motion.

The depth of the handle can be adjusted to achieve the desired thickness of the graft.

A very thin graft is translucent, and the handle beneath appears bluish grey. It leaves a trail of small, closely packed, or confluent bleeding points. A thicker graft appears white, and bleeding points on the donor surface are scarce. In the case of a full thickness graft, the subcutaneous fat is visible.
